Ribbon Belt Tutorial
Lion Brand Incredible (any color) - 1 ball
2 D-rings (I think mine were 1")
L hook
1.5 hours
Crochet a chain the length of a belt you regularly wear, but make sure you do not stretch the chain out too much. Mine was about 108 links. This will be the foundation for the bottom of the belt.
*After making this and wearing it, it stretched out a few more inches, so plan accordingly*
When you have the chain at the desired length, make a loop thru both d-rings, put the hook thru, yo then pull thru both loops. Do this two times, keeping the ribbon somewhat tight against the d-rings, and working from the bottom up. The second one counts as the ch-1 between rows.
(loop thru)
(yarn over)
(pull thru both loops)
(repeat) counts as you ch-1
Row 1: sc in each top chain across
Don't worry about the rings sliding around too much just yet; as you do more rows they will start to stay in place. But keep the tension tighter at that end so it holds them better.
Completed foundation chain and row 1
Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc in each ch across
(Row 2 cont): when at the end, make a loop thru both d-rings, put the hook thru, yo then pull thru both loops; do this twice again
Second time counts as your ch-1
Row 3: repeat row 1
Row 4: repeat row 2
Row 5: repeat row 1
(If you have bigger d-rings, just keep repeating the rows until it is as wide as you want it to be)
Finish off and weave in ends
Not too bad. :)
Here is all of it together:

Happy Crocheting!

Thanks for the tutorial! My daughter will love the belt. (Hope you don't mind that I pinned it.)
